I have developed a simple custom plugin that can read the selected text, or the text that is in the current text area. It uses a premium text to speech service. If you are interested in this, please email me directly and I will share with you the beta version to try out!
I don’t have your email address but I’d be very keen to try this beta
Yes, text to speech is a feature that I use everyday. Currently I’m relying on the capability inside of Google Docs. But, I would like to explore this and test it for you.
Does it work on Chromebook? I would really like to have text to speech. Please email me at Zeasho122@gmail.com. Thank you so much!
Please e-mail me as well: aelin.lovelace@gmail.com
Does this work on files that are opened within the browser such as PDFs by chance?
Let me know if there is particular feedback that you’re looking for, or if you’re looking for folks to find new, interesting, and mind-boggling ways to break things. If the second, I’ll put on my volunteer QA wannabe hat like I do for my coding friendn
I will post the plugin publicly now because it’s better tested. It works with another Chrome extension that lets you customize the voice, speed and other details.
